In 2022, a property owner reached out to us for a comprehensive clean-up and land-clearing solution after his 26-acre property was damaged by the Hermosa Fire near Wimberley, TX. The fire, which spread across approximately 60 acres, left significant destruction in its wake. Our task was to restore the land to a manageable state, as indicated on the attached map where the work area is shaded in red.
To achieve this, we employed a combination of grubbing, piling, and mulching techniques. Burn-damaged debris was gathered into piles for open burning, while a light layer of mulch was strategically left in the fire-affected zones to help nourish the soil. Some materials were relocated to designated areas for open burning, which was scheduled once the local burn ban was lifted.
Kleensite also provided 4,000-gallon water trucks to ensure safety and control during the burn process. We worked closely with local authorities, securing necessary permits from the fire department to conduct the burns safely and within regulations. Additionally, any viable hardwoods—excluding cedar—that had a chance of survival were preserved and left intact, helping to maintain the property’s natural landscape. This project highlighted our expertise in fire-damage clean-up, from debris removal to controlled burns, all while adhering to environmental standards and customer preferences.
